About Bounty

“Every Tuesday evening we serve dignity, & along with dignity we serve a hot meal.”

Sharing God’s Bounty is a Catholic-sponsored soup kitchen dedicated to filling its guests’ bellies and warming their hearts. We served our first meal on Tuesday, January 25th 1983. Founded by three members of St. Philomene’s Catholic Church, Bounty has served nutritious, hot and balanced meals to hungry families and single folks every Tuesday for the last 30-plus years.

Everyone is welcome to join us in our dinner on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM through 7:00 PM in the multi-purpose room of the St. Philomene School. You can find us at 2320 El Camino Ave, located just east of St. Philomene Church at the corner of Bell and El Camino. We generally serve 300-400 meals at the beginning of the month and 500-700 meals on the last Tuesdays of the month. We welcome all guests and volunteers alike, regardless of their religious background or circumstances. The multi-purpose room at St. Philomene School in Sacramento is a safe and warm environment for families and single folks to come to enjoy dignity, respect and delicious hot food.

Although we are not able to permit our hot dishes to be taken home, we do encourage all our guests stay and to enjoy as many servings as they wish until they are thoroughly satisfied. In addition, after the meal, we distribute bags of bread, muffins, cookies (or whatever extra food we receive each week) for our guests to take home with them.
